Closing our Doors

Dear Valued Customer,

We want to thank you for your patronage over the past five years and tell you how much we have enjoyed having you as our customer.

Due to the down turn in the economy I will be closing Echelon Spokes & Slopes, Ltd. on April 30^th, 2010.  This may come as a surprise, but I have weighed my options and feel that this is what I need to do at this time.  Please know that we will continue to conduct business as usual until the 30^th.  We still have our great mechanics on staff to service both your bicycles and skis and great prices on our remaining inventory, marked for clearance. Please stop in and see us before the 30^th as we would like to thank you in person for your support.

If you have any store credit, gift cards, items on lay-away, or ski leases please come in and clear up these matters before April 30^th.  

I want to thank you again for your past business and tell you how much I have enjoyed having you as our customer. Please don't hesitate to call if there is anything we can do for you before April 30^th, 2010.

JD and Dana will be opening their own independent shop in Lafayette on May 1^st, 2010 focusing on bike and ski service, consignment and rentals. They will continue to service all your bike and ski needs in the spirit and excellent service you have become accustomed to. Their new shop is located at 766 W. Trainer Rides

It is that time again. Come join us for a little extra motivation through the winter months.

Indoor trainer rides begin Tuesday, January 5th @ 6:15. All are welcome. You need to bring your bike and trainer. We will workout for 60 minutes using the Carmichael training DVDs. You will learn how to maximize your training time and athletic potential.

Don't forget to bring a towel and electrolyte hydration. (you may find a sweatband helpful)

GEAR SWAP - what you can expect

Do you have old or slightly used sports equipment cluttering up you garage or basement?  Then bring it in and we will sell it for you over the weekend.  It could be bikes, skis, snowshoes, hiking boots, ski boots, tele boots, bike parts, or sports clothing, anything that is in good working condition. 

We have been doing these for three years now and have seen great turnouts.  If you want to upgrade to a new ride sell your old equipment and apply the store credit too anything in the store.  You can either sell for cash or sore credit. 

You will receive 100% of what your items sell for if you opt for store credit and 70% if you opt for cash.  Bring your items in Monday, October 5^th through Friday, October 9^th so we can get them marked for the weekend. Don’t worry if you don’t know what things are worth we can help you decided based on what things have sold for in the past or you can price things at the price you need in order to part with them.  Please remember when you are pricing, we don’t negotiate the prices.

We will only sell at the marked price.  Price things at your minimum price and see what happens.  Please stop in and pick up a form so you can do your marking at home.  If you need help with pricing just leave that part blank and we will take care of that when you drop the items off. 

If you have nothing to sell then just join us on the 10^th & 11^{t h} and see what treasures you can find.  Remember that things go fast and that the best selection is first thing Saturday morning but there is no shopping until 10am, No Exceptions!!

Extremesports ID

Each XTREME SPORTS ID features the medical alert symbol, 800#, and a personal 8-digit ID #. Once purchased, simply register your vital information on their web site. In the event of an emergency, first responders, who are trained to check for medical alert bracelets, can call the phone number, punch in your 8-digit ID#, and hear a readout of all the submitted info.

Echelon Spokes & Slopes Racing News

The road racing season if off to an early start this year.  We are now six races into the 2009 season and already have some results to our credit.  The races have been fast thanks to a warm, dry but windy winter on the Front Range.

Only one for our Echelon riders headed down to AZ for the Valley of the Sun Stage Race.  JD finished with a 19^th out of 100 on the General Classification after three days of racing. 

Next we had three who raced in the CSU Crit in Fort Collins.  Peter Schimpf finished 9^th in the Cat. 4’s showing some great early season form.  Brad Sims and JD raced the Cat. 3 race and finished well in 12^th & 15^th, getting boxed out in the final sprint.  Both spent some time trying to get off the front but were reeled in every time.

We had a great showing at the Frost Bite TT in Fort Collins.  In the Cat.4’s we swept the podium with Craig Howie, Brian Holcomb, and Peter Schimpf taking 1, 2, and 3 respectively. In the women’s 35+ Cat.4 Roseanna Neupauer finished second.  Brad Sims took 1^st in the Cat.3’s with a stellar ride. He then headed to Denver for an afternoon Cirt at City Park and finished in the top 20.

Then came the Road Runner TT in Morrison with Peter taking 2^nd, Brain 3^rd in the Cat. 4’s. Cat 3’s Brad took 6^th and JD 16^th on a technical course.

Spring News Letter

We have had many requests to keep you, our customers, up to date on the happenings here at the shop.   As we make our switch from ski to cycling season we thought this would be as good a time as any to get started. 

We have been receiving the new 2009 bikes and accessories and should see most of the new gear by the end of the month. 

We have the new Giant Bicycles, the TCR Advanced SL, and the New Defy and Avail bikes which are replacing the OCRs in the Giant line.  They have been redesigned and both look and ride great.  You can see the TCR Advanced in action under the riders from Rabobank in the pro ranks. 

Scott has al so brought back both the Addict and the CR1 road bikes for 2009.  To see the Scott Addict in action, watch for George Hincapie, Mark Cavendish and team

Columbia/ Highroad. New 2009 mountain bikes are here too. 

The Scott Genius at 6” bike travel can do everything and the Giant Anthem X and Trance X models have been further improved. 

Come in and check out the new Dura-Ace groupo, it is light and works and looks great.
